Modifications: Don't think there was any - used the modified ears actually.
Opinion: A litte bit of a struggle since i am not good at sewing but I had help. Turned out very cute!!

Pattern: Did not follow any specific pattern. Just worked in Garter for the length of the scarf.
Opinion: Fun at first, but get's annoying after a while! However I was determine to finish it!
